Computers and the Web

I don't think it will be to long before most software apps will all be in the cloud. All of my programming work for the last few years is in that category of software. A new wave of Web 3.0 apps will be made for that market. The market of those apps has already started. Look at the Google Web Apps and Office 365. The web is good enough to do these new and fun things. The only problem I see is people using these crap browsers like IE 7,8 that don't have these new rich features to beable to run these new apps. Then people cry oh it does not work.. Web Dev's such as myself should stop supporting the old versions of IE. Blackout your pages to anyone running IE8 or below.

Long Introduction

Hello Everyone,
This post is for my classmates and for bloggers on Blogger I read for the past year. I wanted to use this assignment for my Wordpress class I am not taking to give everyone a long introduction of myself that would be to long for a classroom setting and for people who have seen me comment on there blogs and wonder who is that person lol..

My name is Joe Kelly. I live alone (I am single hint hint =)) in my own house in Romeoville IL (a suburb about 30 miles from Chicago). I am going to Joilet Jr. College and finishing my degree in web design and than going to transfer to a four year school to finish a degree in Computer Science. Computers have always been fun hobby for me while I was in grade school. I built my first computer at age 10. Been programming since age 6. The web is the future of computing so, that is where my focus is.

I am involved with two clubs on campus. Phi Theta Kappa and the ASL Club. Both are fun and enjoyable to be a part of. Phi Theta Kappa is fun in many ways. I love the research projects we do. Any way I can learn to be a better leader is a plus. The ASL Club is fun because it teaches me Sign Language and I can interact with more hard of hearing and Deaf people like myself. I have moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears and wear hearing aids and sometimes use an FM system in class to help me hear the instructor better. If anyone sees me hand the professor a black thing that they were around there neck that it what that is. The only problem with the FM is that it's hard to hear the other students comments unless the professor repeats it.
